Rachel and Alexander Bailey never expected their private parenting decision to turn into a global talking point—but that’s exactly what happened when the Florida couple revealed that Rachel once breastfed her husband.
Now, years after their viral appearance on My Strange Addiction, the couple—both 32—are looking back on their 15 minutes of internet fame with a mix of humor, disbelief, and reflection.
In a video posted to their YouTube channel (@baileybunch) in March, Rachel and Alexander sat down to rewatch the episode that sparked widespread conversation back in 2023. For Alexander, it was the first time seeing the full segment—and his reaction said it all.
“My thoughts are [that] it’s unreal,” he said, visibly taken aback. “It’s like it didn’t happen, but it happened. It’s just wild. I don’t even know, I have no words.”
Rachel, on the other hand, was more excited to revisit the moment, though she admitted they weren’t quite prepared for the public reaction.
“It’s funny to watch because it was an amazing experience, but it feels like we didn’t do this. But we did do this,” she said with a laugh.
The now-infamous breastfeeding moment wasn’t born out of a kink, Rachel explained—it started purely out of necessity.
“When my eldest child, Troy, now seven, was breastfeeding, I went away on a cruise with Alexander,” Rachel recalled. “However, I forgot my breast pump and was badly engorged for two days. I was in so much pain and scared about getting an infection, so we decided my husband was going to try drinking the milk to relieve me.”
It felt strange at first, she said. But once they tried it, it made sense.
“We were nervous about the idea of him breastfeeding from me—it seemed weird. But as soon as we did it, we realized it was perfectly fine.”
What began as a one-off solution became a more regular part of their routine. Alexander continued drinking Rachel’s breast milk even after they returned home, right up until their youngest child was weaned in 2023.
Surprisingly, Rachel said the unusual habit came with noticeable benefits for Alexander’s health.
“He didn’t get a cold for two years after he started drinking my milk. And so many people said his skin looked better, too. He ended up loving the taste and even prefers it to cow’s milk now.”
Though they stopped the practice last year, the couple says they don’t regret it—and they’re not offended by the curiosity it sparked.
“We realized there was nothing wrong with it. Breast milk is incredibly nutritious,” Rachel added.
Looking back, Alexander summed up the whole experience as surreal.
“It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s not something you’d do every day, going on My Strange Addiction.”
“Things come and go,” he said. “Once one thing’s gone, the next thing pops up, so they move on with that. Nobody talks about it anymore, which is fine. It’s cool.”
