British YouTuber Lord Miles doesn’t just carry a noble name—he seems to live up to it, too. After a year-long saga, a viral hunt, and a 2,700-mile journey, he finally reclaimed his stolen AirPods… from a small city in Pakistan.
Yes, really.
“I have MY AirPods back after 1 year!” he announced triumphantly on X (formerly Twitter), holding up the white earbuds like a war trophy.
The story begins more than a year ago in Dubai, where Miles was staying at a private hotel. According to him, a hotel worker—an Indian national—snuck into his room under the pretense of cleaning and walked off with his AirPods. He later sold them to a Pakistani man, unaware of what would come next.
Miles tracked the device using Apple’s “Find My” app, and to his surprise, the location pinged in Jhelum, a city in Punjab, Pakistan. That’s when the real journey began.
“1 year old. 1.5 months planning, 2700 miles, special operation with Pakistani police… I got my AirPods back, Stolen by an Indian.” he wrote on X.
About a month ago, he posted a screenshot showing the location in Jhelum—right next to a place called “2nd Wife Restaurant.” The unexpected name of the eatery immediately caught fire online, becoming almost as famous as the AirPods themselves. The post crossed 13 million views.
“My AirPod Pros have been lost for a year in Pakistan, and guess who’s going to go there next week and get his property back!” he teased in the viral post.
Fast forward to today, and Miles is now reunited with his beloved AirPods—thanks in large part to the local authorities in Jhelum. In a tweet celebrating the recovery, he also thanked District Police Officer Tariq Aziz Sandhu and added, “They also treated me to lunch at 2nd Wife Restaurant.”
Speaking outside the District Police Office, Miles shared more of the backstory: “An Indian waiter stole my AirPods from the hotel room on the pretext of cleaning and then sold them to a Pakistani citizen. When I tracked them using Apple’s Find My app, the location of Jhelum appeared.”
DPO Jhelum Tariq Aziz Sandhu confirmed the police got involved after spotting the case on social media. They jumped into action, using the device’s linked phone number to zero in on the buyer—who turned out to be a local resident who had unknowingly purchased the stolen item in Dubai.
“The Pakistani citizen was cooperative and returned the AirPods happily,” said the officer.
Miles, clearly impressed, praised the local law enforcement for their fast and professional response. “Even Scotland Yard might not have acted as quickly,” he said.
What started as a frustrating theft turned into an international manhunt, a viral moment, and—thanks to the kindness of strangers and a bit of tech—a story with a happy ending (plus lunch).
